Prostate Cancer UK is the main beneficiary of the Movember campaign. For the last ten years, the amazing efforts of the Movember fundraisers from across the UK have significantly contributed to Prostate Cancer UK’s research initiatives.
This amazing charity’s top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer from killing men. They’re investing millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early, and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.
My Grandpa suffered from Prostate Cancer for 10 years before he passed, so I know how devastating this disease can be and the impact it can have on the families concerned.
As part of my Movember fundraising campaign, I’m going to row 1 metre for the 47,500 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK this year alone.
During the time that I’m rowing 47,500KM, around 6 or 7 men will die from prostate cancer in the UK alone.
It's definitely worth heading over to Prostate Cancer UK's website to see the work they are doing to drive new treatment, and to view the resources they offer on managing life with Prostate Cancer.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to Heka's Movember campaign so far, and for the incredible team at Prostate Cancer UK for all of the work they’re doing to fund life-saving research.
